Don’t let Your Business get Dragged in the Mud

Summer is finally here and a welcome relief after the long grueling winter that many have just weathered. For many office carpets, this brings the peace that comes with not having to deal with salt and slush. Summer, however, comes with it’s own set of problems, from grass clippings to mud and the occasional worm, it doesn’t seem there’s a break from the dirt.

It’s important to stay vigilant when it comes to keeping your carpets clean. While it might not be as noticeable, and with some regular vacuuming, it might even be passable. Taking a chance on what your customers see, however, isn’t always a wise bet. Your customers have a knack for finding things that you wouldn’t see. Indeed, from the moment they walk through the door till their first interaction with the sales team or representative, they are making silent assessments and judgments. We all do it, it’s part of gauging if a business is deserving of our hard earned money. The amount of things you can glean just from the cleanliness of a place is rather astounding and within the first few moments of arriving you can form an opinion of a place, specifically your place of business.

Cleaning Up Your Act

In the restaurant world, it’s called your ABC’s or Always Be Cleaning, and it holds true for a lot of other businesses as well. The idea for kitchens is that you should never stop moving. You clean as you go and you don’t have to worry about a big mess at the end. This not only keeps things safe, but it keeps your kitchen looking good and running smooth. For an office that has janitors, they’re in a constant rotation, tidying and cleaning, with most disruptive of tasks such as vacuuming are done after hours so there’s less disturbance and distraction for you and your customers.

What

There are some tasks, such as deep cleaning carpets and washing windows that need to happen more often than they should. For some businesses, hiring a window washer or getting the carpets professionally cleaned can be a big expense. Carpets are even more so in trouble than windows as the dirt isn’t always noticeable.

The Benefits of Cleaning Carpets Regularly

There are several benefits to having your carpets professionally deep cleaned on a more frequent basis than most businesses tend to do.

Being Professional- When your business is clean, there’s a certain sense of pride that goes with it. It lends itself to a very professional image, one your customers expect to see when going through you.

First Impressions- From new customers to inspections, having clean carpets just adds to the value of your first impression. It’s important to remember that while a returning customer might be willing to overlook something, a new one typically won’t.

Maintains the Life of Your Carpets- While the value of this doesn’t come with a measure of instant gratification, having your carpets replaced isn’t cheap. Over time, the cost of having to redo the carpeting in an office or business can add up quickly. Deep cleaning removes the abrasive substances that cause your carpet to break down.

A Clean You can See

First impressions make for an incredible impact in what your customers think about your business. From the moment they pull into the parking lot and take that first step through the front door, they are making unconscious assessments and judgements of what they see. One of the most important factors, no matter what your business might be, is cleanliness. Stained carpet or dirt caked linoleum creates a huge negative checkmark for a potential customer. Much like walking through the aisle of a grocery store and finding a sticky spot where something had spilled and wasn’t cleaned properly. It can leave you feeling unsatisfied and in some cases disgusted, depending on the severity of the mess. The same goes for your business and customers, if your business is looking less than it’s best, a new customer can infer that the same can be said of your services. This is why having your place of business clean and professional looking is beyond important.

Working With What You Have

Regular cleaning does go a long way. Breaking out the vacuum and mop every now again certainly helps to maintain an acceptable level of cleanliness, but is it enough? Over time, linoleum flooring can become caked with dirt and grime that doesn’t come up with a mop and bucket. If you have tile flooring, that grime builds up in the grout, becoming an unsightly nuisance that’s almost impossible to get up without spending an afternoon on hands and knees scrubbing it with a toothbrush. Carpeting can become the most difficult of all. When stains begin to set in, it seems almost impossible to get them up. When the going gets tough, the tough get professional help. While janitors can devote more time to keeping things clean, sometimes you need the help of a commercial cleaning service to make sure your business shines just as bright as the services you offer.

The Advantages of Working with a Commercial Cleaning Service

When running a successful business, there are certain things you have to take into account for budgeting. While cleaning and upkeep are certainly among them, the amount of labor hours needed to get your business looking professionally clean can take entirely too long. Factor that with the cost of the equipment needed to produce the desired results and it quickly becomes inefficient to attempt to do it in house. Not only can a commercial cleaning service save you money, but it saves you time as well. Having a crew of highly trained, professional cleaners means your business gets cleaned in a fraction of the time, which means a great deal less disruption during your business hours as well as making it more convenient for your customers.

The best, and most important advantage of using a cleaning service is the results. With the skills, equipment and know how to make your office or business sparkle, you can rest easy knowing that you’re creating a positive and professional image from the moment your customers walk in the door. Not only can they help keep you clean, but regular deep cleaning means less wear and tear on your carpet and flooring, extending the life and reducing the investment of having to replace it later down the road.

Understanding the Going Green Phenomenon

How seriously do you take the cleaning of your office building? Have you considered the impact of cleanliness on your customers and employees? What is all this talk about environmentally friendly and going green? If you are a business owner, you are bombarded with countless cleaning companies that want to discuss your current cleaning solutions. We know that first impressions mean everything, so when a customer walks into your facility, the first thing you want them to notice is that you take pride in your appearance. The cleanliness of your facility will say a lot about how you do business and how you treat your customers, both internally and externally. But it’s not only about a clean appearance; it is also about making the best choices in the process. We are hearing more and more about green cleaning products replacing the conventional ways of cleaning, and when it comes to commercial cleaning, there are some very good reasons to consider it to be the way of the future.

What Does “Going Green” Really Mean?

A number of cleaning companies will advertise green cleaning, but what does it really mean? Is it simply the new buzzword of the cleaning industry, or does it have merit? Green cleaning refers to the use of healthier and environmentally friendly cleaning products and solutions. In turn, the products need to be biodegradable. In some cases, the simple use of water over other chemicals can be the most effective and “green” way to clean.

Many people have decided to go green at home in order to create a healthier living environment for their families and pets, but does a company really have to worry about the cleaning products for their facilities? The answer is yes, and whether you are cleaning an office, warehouse, or home, the benefits are many and real. With a greater concern for the environment, every company should be doing their part to minimize the harmful effects. For a cleaning product and method to be considered environmentally friendly, it must meet a long list of requirements, all of which are safe for humans and the overall environment.

What are the Benefits to a Company?

1. It is an overall healthier alternative – The primary reason to consider a green cleaning company is the health benefits to the staff and customers. Since there is no use of harmful chemicals within the cleaning process, whether they are cleaning carpets or walls, the cleaning company should be able to deliver an unmatched cleanliness with safe products. The cleaning products are known to affect the skin or respiratory system of the users, the employees within your facility, and the customers that frequent your office. In addition, a consistently clean and sanitized area means fewer reported incidences of illness and use of sick days. For the company, this means a huge savings on replacing employees at the last minute, working understaffed. In addition to the clean appearance of your office building, green products rid the area of allergens. No matter what your initial reason, these are all benefits to working with green products.

2. There is no institutional smell – How many times have you walked into an office building and been hit with a whiff of what can best be described as “hospital smell?” Just because it smells like it is clean doesn’t mean that it is the only way to get it clean and sanitized. The green products will give you the strength of the old products without the negative effects on those using the facility and equipment.

3. Safer for the environment – The reality is that green products are not only safer for us, but also for the environment. We all have a responsibility to keeping it clean and safe. Customers tend to look to do business with companies that are just as concerned about the similar interests.

4. Overall less costly – Between the chances for chemical spills, multiple hazards to employees, ongoing downtime while at work, or calling off for entire days, the expense of accidents can be great. Invest in your company and its future by going green. Because accidents do happen, and people inadvertently are injured, make sure that chemicals are not one of the reasons that you have people injured and off work.

No matter what your personal reason for going green, make sure that you are working with suppliers and service providers that also have the same commitment. Be careful in your selections, and meet with your potential cleaning service to ensure quality work. No matter what your company layout and needs, work with someone who has years of experience and can explain the process while demonstrating the quality and effectiveness of the green process.

The Importance of Regular Carpet Cleaning

We all know that it’s important to keep the floors and carpets of our businesses clean. It’s important for employees to feel like they’re working in a clean environment; it’s also important to leave a good impression for your customers when they enter your business. Clean office surroundings can go a long way in creating a professional business environment.

An especially important part of the office that must be cleaned regularly is your carpet. Apart from the ones listed above, there are also many other reasons to have the carpet at your business cleaned regularly. Let’s explore some of those reasons:

Hygiene

Unlike other floor surfaces, carpet can accumulate and hold dust and dirt more easily because of its composition of thick fibers. The dirt and grime are trapped in the fibers, and are further compressed into the carpet when walked upon. Carpets may not appear as dirty as other floors at first glance, but because of their composition, they can actually be much less clean than a normal floor surface. This entrapment of dirt and dust can cause an allergic reaction with people who are allergic to the microbes that grow on the carpet because of the extra layer of dirt and dust.

An unclean carpet can also cause mold to form, which is another obvious health risk to the people who are walking on its surface. In order to grow, mold needs moisture, a food source, and a proper growing surface. You can see that a carpet is the perfect place for this growth, as carpet is often slightly damp due to the number of people walking on its surface; this combined with the dirt on the carpet gives the perfect place for mold to grow and flourish. This can again cause an allergic reaction to those people sensitive to the microbes present in mold.

To ensure that your carpet is cleaned properly and is completely free of dust and dirt, more than just a simple vacuuming is needed. A vacuum can clean the surface of the carpet, but more is needed to remove the dirt that has been trampled between the carpet’s fibers. Here at Classic Commercial Services, we ensure that your carpet is clean as possible with our innovative cleaning techniques.

Carpet Maintenance

In addition to the obvious health benefits, another benefit of regular carpet cleaning that is not often considered is the health of the carpet itself. We all know what a carpet looks like after having been used for a length of time. Its original color begins to fade, and its appearance begins to have a “trampled” look. Believe it or not, more than simply walking on the carpet, this look can be also caused by the dirt itself. The ragged edges of the dust and dirt particles can wear down the thickness of the fibers in the carpet, causing them to appear trampled and worn down.

Again, merely vacuuming the carpet will not solve the problem. A deep cleaning is needed to ensure that the carpet remains healthy and looking its best. At CCS, we have two innovative methods of cleaning your carpet; steam carpet cleaning and dry carpet cleaning. The name steam carpet cleaning is a bit of a misnomer, as steam is not actually used to clean the carpets. A better name for the process is Hot Water Extraction. The first step in the process is to take heated water (not actual steam), and spray the carpet while simultaneously vacuuming. The vacuum is used to remove the dirt and grime that is dislodged by the heated water. This is a very effective way of cleaning carpet, as it offers a deeper clean than many of the alternative methods. The water is pushed down to the base of the carpet, cleaning out as much dirt and grime as possible. Hot Water Extraction is also environmentally friendly, as fewer toxic chemicals are used in the cleaning process.

The second carpet cleaning method is the Dry Cleaning or “very low moisture” method, in which low moisture chemicals that break down the dirt and grime are sprayed into the carpet. The loose dirt is then vacuumed from the carpet. The benefit of this method is the very low drying period required.

Whatever your commercial carpet cleaning needs, we here at Classic Commercial Services are here to help. Contact us today, and our specialized technicians will perform a free evaluation and inspection to get you on your way to having a clean, healthy carpet.

Clean and Healthy Living

More and more, consumers are becoming aware of the impact the many products we purchase has on our health and environment. The fact is that we’ve lived in a kind of ignorant bliss up ‘till now, though bliss may be stretching it – after all, a variety of illnesses and diseases can be traced back to the misuse of chemicals in our foods and around the house. Furthermore, the environment can be negatively impacted by the amount of toxic fumes and chemicals we have flooded it with in recent years.

While we can’t erase the mistakes of the past, we can begin to make the right decisions about the products we use in our homes. When it comes to cleaning your hotel or motel, however, it can seem difficult or even impossible to do so in an environmentally responsible manner. After all, the most effective cleaning solutions seem to be the most toxic.

Green Cleaning

Fortunately, the “green cleaning” movement has come along to provide a solution to your eco-friendly cleaning dilemma. Not so much a movement as a collection of cleaning methods that are made to be environmentally friendly, green cleaning involves the use of cleaning substances and techniques that are designed to preserve your health as well as the quality of your environment.

These techniques do not use chemically reactive and toxic cleaning products that contain toxic chemicals or which otherwise emit organic compounds that can cause the breathing and skin problems that are so often associated with cleaning products. How many times have you walk through a freshly-cleaned, gleaming room, and come out the other end short of breath, your eyes irritated, or with a rash? It happens more often than you’d like to admit! With green cleaning, these toxic baths are a thing of the past.

Beyond being good for your personal health, green cleaning products are also biodegradable, and in containers that are themselves good for the environment, whether they were manufactured in such a way as to preserve the environment or whether the containers themselves are biodegradable. Being

Green Starts at Home

You have a number of options when it comes to making green cleaning a regular practice. While you could invest in microfiber materials to cut down on the need for anything more than water in cleaning your clothes and furniture, that is a rather expensive (and hard to take!) route. For now, you’re better off using cleaning materials that are environmentally friendly.

Some of those products include Seventh Generation cleaning materials, which are considered safe and sustainable, and Mrs. Meyers, which are largely chlorine and phosphate-free. Dr. Bronner’s soaps are also great for cleaning, well, just about anything! These substances are not any more difficult to use than the less environmentally friendly cleaning agents you typically see.

Of course, you can’t expect your staff to clean your entire building from top to bottom, much less to invest in the eco-friendly cleaning supplies and materials that you would need to do so. Fortunately, cleaning services like Classic Commercial Services are available to tackle just about every big cleaning task your business has in a safe, environmentally conscious manner.

Choosing the Right Service

Some cleaning services treat cleaning your building like an exterminator might treat fumigation! The chemicals and other cleaning agents they use are so full of toxins and other caustic, unhealthy substances that you are barred from re-entry to your own home for days after the service has come and gone. This is an absolutely untenable state of affairs; neither your staff nor your customers should be subjected to the kind of unhealthy chemicals that your hotel is regularly bathed in by these irresponsible cleaning services.

That’s why Classic Commercial Services has gone to such lengths to ensure that the cleaning agents it uses are as safe, clean, and healthy as possible. While certain problems require quite a bit of cleaning effort, such as pet odor or years of dirt and stains, we always endeavor to use the safest, healthiest method of cleaning available.

We do this without passing on the extra cost of this to you – largely because it is already so affordable to take care of the environment! Our society is finally beginning to take seriously the threat posed to ourselves and our world by the chemicals we use every day. With time and a little bit of smart shopping decisions, we may be able to make up for past mistakes and live a healthier, cleaner life!
